Adam Ant

His name allegedly comes from the 1960’s BBC television series “Adam Adamant Lives!”. Other accounts say that he chose Adam because he had seen paintings of the Garden of Eden and wanted to live there, and Ants in parody of the Beatles. Additionally, there was a cartoon by the name of Atom Ant in the mid 60’s that might have added to the mix…
A few years ago he had treatment for a mental-health condition after he went to a local pub brandishing a gun even though he did not intend to use it.

I saw him in a small venue for the Vive le Rock tour. I have never seen nor felt more energy pouring off the stage. I've seen many groups since then, but none beat Adam for a live performance!

Mr Ant had his moments of greatness. The elements or Moricone are quite marvellous, as is the brass. He did go a bit potty, didn't he?
