    1. How did you get into 29?
I first heard Emiliana Torrini in the 3rd edition of the World Song Contest (link). The Icelandic entry, Sunny Road, was my favourite song of the whole bunch.

    2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22?
I think it was to nowhere, featuring Emily Bindiger on vocals.

    3. What's your favorite lyric by 33?
FictionJunction YUUKA -- I don't really understand the lyrics since they're in Japanese.

    4. How did you get into 49?
孫燕姿 -- I was looking for an entry for the 16th edition of the WSC, and I discovered My Story, Your Song, a duet with 倉木麻衣. Actually, I don't like Mai's other works but Sun has some wonderful songs.

    5. How many albums by 13 do you own?
Christine Guldbrandsen -- I own, as in I actually bought, two out of three. I'm missing Moments. By gum these are good albums.

    6. What is your favorite song by 50?
Since I have four artists at #50, I can't be bothered to answer this one.

    7. Is there a song by 39 that makes you sad?
    No artists at #39. xD

    8. What is your favorite song by 15?
Björk -- Jóga. A phenomenal song.

    9. What is your favorite song by 5?
Angela Aki -- Yikes, Aki is one of those artists whose every song is fantastic. I think my favourite is Your Love Song, for its heartbreaking beauty.

    10. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy?
Sure, she has so many upbeat, happy songs!

    11. What is the worst song by 40?
I haven't listened to her much but she definitely does have some stinkers.

    12. What is your favourite song by 10?
BONNIE PINK -- Again, another artist with numerous stellar songs. I guess my number one would be The Answer ~Hitotsu ni Naru Toki~.

    13. What is a good memory you have involving 30?
Shigeru Umebayashi -- If this counts, that would be watching some particular scenes of the film “2046”, for which he has composed a couple of tracks. I was absolutely astounded by how good the acting was. Gong Li and Zhang Ziyi wrenched my heart (and my tear ducts).

    14. What is your favourite song by 38?
Christina Aguilera -- Probably PlayWalk Away.

    15. Is there a song by 19 that makes you happy?
Crystal Kay -- Sure! She makes so many happy songs. My first song was Kirakuni. A real feel-good song.

    16. Is there a song by 25 that makes you sad?
She could make anyone feel sad with some of those songs. infection probably has the biggest effect.

    17. What is the first song you ever heard by 23?
Nobuchika EriLights. I had heard of her long before I finally heard the song. I kicked myself for waiting so long to listen to this amazing songstress.

    18. What's your favourite lyric by 11?
I don't really understand the lyrics since they're in Japanese. Her English lyrics are never good.

    19. Who is a favourite member of 1?
There are no members of number 1. 宇多田ヒカル is a solo artist.

    20. Is there a song by 14 that makes you happy?
Yes. PlayZheng Tuo (cover of Dreams by The Cranberries), from the film “Chunking Express”, makes me feel happier. Just thinking of the film makes me happier.

    21. What is a good memory involving 27?
JYONGRI – Watching the music video to PlayPossession for the first times (I played it on a loop.)

    22. What is your favourite song by 16?
Brandy – She has quite a few great songs but I think my favourite is Sweet Nothings.

    23. What is the first song you ever heard by 47?
Scandinavian Music GroupPlayMustana, maidolla, kylmänä, kuumana. It was sent as an entry for the WSC by the Finnish player. I was such a fool for not giving it any points.

    24. What is your favourite album by 18?
YUI – I don't actually have any YUI albums, just some of the singles.

    25. What is your favorite song by 21?
Amy Winehouse – Toughie. I love the flow of her albums but I don't much listen to individual songs. I actually adore her cover of PlayWill You Still Love Me Tomorrow, originally by The Shirelles..

  • Simple Things Sometimes Aren't That Simple.

    25 Aug 2008, 13:35 by Mu5iCmAn

I was asked earlier to make lunch. It was fish fingers and rice. Now, I might sound like a retard but I didn't have a clue where to start. I knew that it was really easy but I didn't know how to do it properly. I nearly burnt the fish fingers and slightly singed the rice. Yesterday I burnt some toast. It doesn't happen often but it did yesterday. As you can tell I'm not the best cook ever. But that struck a chord with me. Something that seems so simple isn't always as easy as you think until you've practiced it. Now, people criticize bands like Nickelback too much, but really what they are playing is quite difficult until you know how to do it. They have obviously practiced a lot to be able to play their songs well, so this is just my view on music. You can say you don't like it but in the end for most music you have to confess that they are quite talented. With the exception of Amy Winehouse of course lol.

Warto. No i zapewni to odpowiednie towarzystwo festiwalowe. (dżjunoamin?) ^^

    3. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
Bo ja to w sumie mógłbym ogłuchnąć znów na jakiś czas.

    4. Crystal Castles.

    5. Athlete/Travis/Flaming Lips
    /Starsailor
No powinno być coś koldplejnego, chociaż samego Martina wolałbym se zmacać na osobnym koncercie... Athlete bo 'Modern Mafia' i absolutnie najpiękniejsza pieśń XX! wieku - 'Wires' *_*. Travis bo zajebiste single (a może singiel ?). Flaming Lips bo bańka i szoł a Starsailor tak se napisałem, coby Alter Art se mógł wybrać (chociaż 'In the Croosfire' wybitnie w pytę. O. albo Four To the Floor...)

    6. Ladytron
    W sumie zobaczę ich w październiku ale czemu nie powtórzyć tego za rok w lipcu ? 'This is happen for your pleisure...' i najwspanialsza dyskoteka roku zapewniona (;

    7. The Knife.
Bo światełka mają a to taki nastrój świąteczny wprowadzi. Jeszcze trochę i się opłatkiem podzielim. \m/

    8. The Pipettes.
Jak coś dla ucha to i dla oka. Hmmm...

    9. Justice.
W sumie to Oni mają jedną płytę, niiieee ? To nie mogą niby ? (pipety tyż...) Ale nie ma tak! Sex Pistols mogło wystąpić to czemu nie Francuziki ?

    10. Queens of the Stone Age.

    11. Daft Punk
Oł men, Janosik znów w telewizji, no nie mogę ^^ a tych to wepchnąć za Chemical Brothers, też ładne projekcje dają.

    12. The Verve

    13. Rage Against the Machine

    14. My Bloody Valentine
No i przecież jest '(when you sleep) you're still in a dream') *_*

    15. M.I.A.
no bo zalepiła w tym roku.

    16. Beirut
ojaaaaa no ja to się nie znam w sumie ale po coś ta World Stage musi istnieć.

    17. Radiohead
A to jeszcze ich nie napisałem ?

    18. Graham Coxon/José González
bo Blur bez niego to jakoś nie to samo, nawet pomimo zajebistości 'Think Tank'. No i w końcu muszę szpanować awatarianem, niiieeee ? A ten drugi pan to w warukach namiotowych miszcz.

    19. The Music

    20. !!!/The Rapture/Hot Chip
    pewnie coś będzie.

    21. Nine Black Alps.

    25. CSS.
Och, Let's Make Love whitout Death From Above (1979)!

    26. Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Straszną chętkę mam na porządne indiepierdolnięcie.

    27. no i absolutna konieczna-konieczność - Kings of Leon.
bo przy Czarmerze ma zagwarantowany szeks. Chociaż wolałbym przy Knocked Up - 4 minuty (aka minety) różnicy piechotą nie chodzą.

    W hiphopie to ja nieobeznany więc się nie udzielam. a. i ponoć się mówi 'ponieważ' ale kij z tym. (;

  • 50 questions about my top 50 artists.

    22 Aug 2008, 13:03 by ViolentMaureen

    1. How did you get into 29? (A Fine Frenzy)

It was a couple of months ago. I was browsing on last.fm, going through similar artists and came accross her. The first song I listened to was You Picked Me. I adored the lyrics since I associated them with someone and so I was hooked.

    2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22? (Rosie Thomas)

I believe that it was the song Songbird/Kite Song. Firstly I found the lyrics, and I read through them all. I figured that such poetic language can only be accompanied by magical music and hopefully voice, and I was right.

    3. What’s your favorite lyric by 33? (James Blunt)

No specific lyrics come to mind. Though I used to constantly listen to You're Beautiful. And I started again not long ago, since I (yet again) used to use that phrase when addressing someone I deeply care for.

    4. What is your favorite album by 49? (Madeleine Peyroux)

Oh I don't know the name. I had two, but I ended up giving them away. Though I still catch myself hum the song Careless Love.

    5. How many albums by 13 do you own? (Belanova)

I own the latest one, however I will buy their first. I am a true fan and I will therefore behave like one.

    6. What is your favorite song by 50? (Ratatat)

    I love the song Montanita.

    7. Is there a song by 39 that makes you sad? (Bijelo Dugme)

Not really. They have a couple of ballads, but I rarely listen to those.

    8. What is your favorite album by 15? (Within Temptation)

I would probably state that I like The Silent Force the most. But their new album isn't far behind either.

    9. What is your favorite song by 5? (Yann Tiersen)

Wow, now this is difficult. I adore the song Le Matin and Sur Le Fil. La Noyeé is also one of my huge favorites. What can I say? Yann is a genius.

    10. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy? (Gogol Bordello)

Yes. The majority of their songs to be honest. However there are two in particular that make me want to shake it, lol. Wonderlust King and Start Wearing Purple

    11. What is your favorite album by 40? (Amy Winehouse)

    Back to Black, deluxe edition.

    12. What is your favorite song by 10? (Ingrid Michaelson)

Ah! These sort of questions are hard. How can a person have only one favorite song?! Well, Morning Lullabies and Corner of Your Heart are personal favorites.

    13. What is a good memory you have involving 30? (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!)

Thinking that it is destiny for me and my friend to have found them. Lol. No, I don't know. I don't have anything in particular linked to them.

    14. What is your favorite song by 38? (Priscilla Ahn)

A Good Day (Morning Song). I don't listen to her anymore, but that song did stick for a while.

    15. Is there a song by 19 that makes you happy? (Joshua Radin)

Yes. Lovely Tonight, Only You, Closer. Actually, Josh himself makes me happy. Now, to him I have linked memories, hence why his music has such an effect. I will never forget who introduced me to his music and how.

    16. How many times have you seen 25 live? (Severina)

None, though I would love to. I have heard she is energetic and fun on stage.

    17. What is the first song you ever heard by 23? (Katie Melua)

Spider's Web. I adored that song and so bought her albums. Since then, I am a fan.

    18. What is your favorite album by 11? (The Darkness)

Probably One Way Ticket to Hell... and Back.

    19. Who is a favorite member of 1? (Flogging Molly)

Politically correct answer is in order, so I shall answer: I love them all. Lol.

    20. Have you ever seen 14 live? (System of a Down)

    No. [sobs]

    21. What is a good memory involving 27? (ABBA)

Rocking out to them with my friends. Yes, I do realize the irony: rocking out to ABBA. No, but there are some really good memories linked to them and I don't want to share. It's going to be my secret, shhh. Aren't I mysterious? Lol.

    22. What is your favorite song by 16? (Amaral)

Alerta. I adore it.But I also have to slip in Tarde de Domingo Rara. I know, one song policy, but I just had to.

Well, that was an easy one. She only has one so far.

At the moment it is It Don't Matter to the Sun. Leaves me breathless.

    None. One day. One day.

    32. Is there a song by 44 that makes you happy? (Tracy Chapman)

Well, The Promise puts me in a serenity mode. I guess that should count as happy, because I am, only in a calm and less hyper way I suppose.

    33. What is you favorite album by 12? (Nightwish)

I love Once. Yes, you heard me.

    34. What is the worst song by 45? (Alaska In Winter)

    35. What was the first song you ever heard by 34? (Detektivbyrån)

Dansbanan. And to this day I think it is a fabulous piece of instrumental music.

    36. What is your favorite album by 48? (Okkervil River)

They only have one, right? I'm not sure and to be honest I can't answer this question anymore. Yes, I have stopped listening to them.

Here He Comes (Confessions of a Drunken Marionette).

I believe it was L'Encre de Tes Yeux. He is magnificent.

    40. What is your favorite album by 7? (Regina Spektor)

Oh, oh, oh. My Regin-a, Regin-a, Regin-a-ah, ah ah. Yeah, you are right, it is way too hard to decide. What can I say? She is brilliant and that is reflected in her music.

    41. Is there a song by 31 that makes you happy? (Azure Ray)

Not really. They just make me serene and nostalgic.

    42. What is your favorite album by 41? (Magazin)

Ah Meryl Streep and her two corky friends. Lol.

    49. What is the first song you ever heard by 43? (Vampire Weekend)

    50. How many albums do you own by 20? (Ladytron)

Two. I shall buy more, promise!
  • Rah calls Amy out in recent myspace blog

    21 Aug 2008, 18:56 by TheJanStan

Here's Rahsaan Patterson's most recent myspace blog post regarding Amy Winehouse:

    i love Amy!..........:grrr:

    ....but.......

to think that she has no one around her who will at least force her to take a BATH.......
    is absolutely insane.

i adore her gift and talent.
and understand a human's right to do what they want.
    and understand addictive nature....indeed.
but to see that she has no one on her side to at least make her take a BATH .........?

it hurt to witness such a thing.

I'm in the Uk at the moment.
here performing at the V Festival.
    Amy performed today.......as well
as countless other artists and bands

it's one thing to watch her on the news or on YOUTUBE and another to witness up close and personal.

    MAN!!!!!!!

I THANK GOD FOR PEOPLE IN MY LIFE WHO CARE..........WHO REALLY CARE!!!!!!!

i have never seen an ARTIST take the stage so FILTHY!!!!!!!!

it hurt my heart to know that nobody gave enough of a SHIT to at least tell that baby to get in the shower!!!!!

    i don't care!!!!!!!

be as in the zone as you need to be, get ur life on.......but please, have someone who cares enough to say..........'bitch........get in the shower'.

    a manager, a friend, a cousin, an assistant, a parent, a boyfriend, a girlfriend...........

i swear, my mouth was open...........the whole time.

    i pray for her deliverance
    i pray for her strength
and i pray that she comes out of this alive.

    she is gifted...
she is destined to live out her fate
    she is an artist
    she is young
    she is 'touched'
    she is in the dark

    i know
    i relate....
    and
    i wish her the best....

    but most,

i'm grateful for family and loved ones who actually
    CARE and give a shit!

    it means the world.

    21 Aug 2008, 11:31 by PatientiaTonks
