He kind of sounds like Ed Harcourt I think. What pretty instrumentation!! Sometimes I wish he'd mess up a little more in the music though. It's sooo perfect!

bowl of fire does not compare to anything just andrew bird has made.

This group is absolutely amazing. Great music. I love Andrew Bird's style, he can change genres yet keep the same taste.

It's weird becuase he is billed on their webstie as Andrew Bird, yet the Washington Post and other press outlets have Bowl of Fire next to his name. Its not too unlikely, I mean Shudder to THink is reuniting there, and Chuck Berry is being backed by a Tokyo based Beatles tribute band. Wouldn't be the weirdest thing to happen.

KHalpin83 wrote:
I read somewhere that Andrew's reuniting with the Bowl of Fire for the Virgin Mobile Festival in Baltimore this August...anyone know if this is true or just a torturous rumor?

I think I love both equally, but it's awesome hearing Andrew kick back and rock out. I mean, play Weather Systems (the song) & then put on How Indiscreet and you're like, Holy crap...this is the same dude? Just makes me love him all the more.

Much more similar to M. Ward than his solo (?) work. It's a lot more varied as well, explores more styles and genres. It really shouldn't be compared to his solo (?) albums, because they're different in their own ways. Think Bonnie Prince Billy and his many Palace names.

Love this stuff! I heard these old albums before I heard The MPoE and the like so they still have a big place in my heart :) I love the wee successive solos in Minor Stab and other such songs...and they always gave the drum a solo too! It's a pity the swing revival is long gone...another one is in order!!! SWING REVOLUTION, you heard it first at Last FM.
