Long Branch, New Jersey, US (1949 – present)
Springsteen’s lyrics often concern men and women struggling to make ends meet. In this sense he was sometimes compared to Woody Guthrie. He has gradually become identified with progressive politics. Springsteen is also noted for his support of various relief and rebuilding efforts in New Jersey and elsewhere, and for his response to the September 11, 2001 attacks, on which his album The Rising reflects.
Springsteen’s recordings have tended to alternate between commercially accessible rock albums and somber folk-oriented works.

rcknrol : Bruce is so much more than a songwriter.... He writes amazing songs, but he's also an amazing entertainer. His shows are so powerfull and energetic... Yes, Dylan is a great songwriter and some of Bruce's inspiration, but he can't come close to what Bruce is today. Bruce is everything. He is The Boss.

The Ghost of Tom Joad with Morello is scorching - shame that his 90s albums weren't with the E Street band really.
