21-year-old Jason Castro from Rockwall, Texas was a contestant on the 7th season of American Idol. He placed 4th in the competition, voted off following his performances of Bob Marley’s “I Shot The Sherrif”, and Bob Dylan’s “Mr. Tambourine Man”.

Jason is currently majoring in Construction Science at Texas A&M University, though it is unclear whether he will be taking a leave to pursue his musical career. Before his Idol experience, he played drums in a band called Keeping Lions.
