Joe Bonamassa (born May 8, 1977) just wanted to earn enough money to buy a deluxe Nintendo game when he started playing the guitar professionally. Then he met blues legend B.B. King. At the age of 12, his mother got a call from a promoter asking if he wanted to be the opening act at a concert at which King was the headliner. After hearing the gifted adolescent play, King was so impressed that he invited Bonamassa to tour over the summer with his band.
The gig got Bonamassa exposure on national television and a recording contract with EMI Records. He has made six albums and spends nine months a year on the road performing with industry greats that include John Lee Hooker, Joe Cocker, Peter Frampton, George Thorogood, Los Lobos and Jonny Lang.

I was lucky to see him a couple of times in London a few years ago. He sat and had a drink with us after. Can't imagine that happening now...too many people have heard of him.

I saw Joe a couple of years ago in South London (being supported by the awesome Funkydory!). At the end of the gig Joe gave his guitar to a kid in the audience. A great guitarist and a great guy!

Saw Joe last night in Manchester - the real one in the UK that is. Jesus H Christ on a bike! This guy is the mutt's nuts. Eric Clatopout is playing the MEN (big arena) next year and charging a fortune for it. Joe only wanted £20 and his is miles better! Good value for money at the moment if you can catch him - just wait, in 5 years time his tickets will be going for £50 (like Eric's). Each CD is better than the last.
