“Self Medication“ is the collaborative effort of Logic, Redman, Statik Selektah, and Seth MacFarlane over a jazz-infused, boom-bap beat about relaxing and embracing your craft. Logic boasts about his Akai MPC60 and SM7 microphone while sharing his appreciation for mixing, sampling, and getting high.
Logic samples “Juicy” By The Notorious B.I.G. using his memorable line “and if you don't know now you know”.
In a behind-the-scenes video from the studio posted on March 1, 2023, Logic jokes that he “just took out my chains so I could give Seth rap energy” as Seth steps up to the mic.
“I can use all the rap energy I can get my hands on,” MacFarlane replies.
After he belts out the chorus to the track, titled “Self Medication,” Logic tells him: “It's like Sinatra. It’s Sinatra in the flesh.”
The track was featured on Spotify's playlist Rap Caviar. The track also charted at #97 on Billboard's Top 100: USA, as well as charted at #30 on Spotify's USA charts.
