Persuader is a Swedish power/heavy metal band that was formed in 1997. A good description of their music would be a mixture of Blind Guardian and Iced Earth with somewhat thrashy/raw vocals. They have released three full length albums: The Hunter, Evolution Purgatory and When Eden Burns.
Line-up: Jens Carlsson (Vocals), Fredrik Hedström (Bass), Emil Norberg
(Lead guitar), Efraim Juntunen (Drums) and Daniel Sundbom (Rythm guitar).

I had heard of Dark Empire before through Gustavo Sazes but really had no clue what they did, but one day I found Persuader and fell in love with them; the next day, I tuned into their similar artists, found DE again, and tried my best to pick up the rest of my jaw. I got into Savage Circus as well, but honestly, I think Persuader and Dark Empire are the one-two punch of Jens. They're both great bands with a hell of a lot of songwriting skills and musicianship. (Also, SC is by no means mediocre; I like them a lot as well... just not to the same extent.)

Didn't reckon much to The Hunter when I first listened to it, but two tracks into When Eden Burns, I remember just what drew me to Jens's vocals. I only found out about Persuader through Dark Empire, when I looked at what else the guy had done. And, my God, this was a smart choice.

Persuader fans, do yourself a favour and check out Astral Doors. It's up there in the 'similar artists' list, and that's how I found it. Some quality kick arse old-school power metal.
