I agree with Availuablename, "Oscured By Clouds" is one of the most underrated Floyd records. I've a soft spot for "More" as well and their work from "Zabriskie Point."

I agree The_Pear. I've been listening to it all day. I can't stop playing the beginning of Pigs (Three Different Ones). Pink Floyd is boring to people who don't have the patience to listen to great music, that's all it is.

A part of me dies every time I see Pink Floyd and words like 'boring' in the same sentence. If the peak of our civilization's musical creativity is boring, then we are a doomed species.

Something must be wrong with the Pink Floyd radio, because I haven't been able to hear a track from them in a LONG TIME now. Every day I click on "Pink Floyd radio" and nothing, when before, as most stations do with a particular artist, 90% of the time the first song played will be from that particular artist to begin with, but this hasn't been the case in recent memory, and I was wondering if perhaps anyone else was suspicious of this?

I'll tell you what's pretentious: trashing a multi-platinum cornerstone of the rock and roll industry from a computer desk. Also, CHILDHOOD'S END! Come on people, don't make a top 10 and leave out the song that defines Pink Floyd.

Pigs Might Fly by Blake is pretty much everything you would probably need or want to know about PF though. Gonna go get Mason's book too though.

I'm re-reading Nicholas Schaffner's Saucerful of Secrets, an excellent bio of PF. Highly recommended. Nick Mason's Inside Out is also great. A lot of photos you can't find elsewhere, insight from within, and Mason's self-deprecating style is a treat.

And I really like to know how Pink Floyd are pretentious. That term is thrown around here quite often and I don't see how they are pretentious in any way, shape, or form. People need to check up on what pretentious actually means.

Pink Floyd is pretty much every type of music I need. The range of songs, styles and sounds that makes up the band's discography is perfect. It's music that you feel and explore with your mind. That's why I love Floyd. Why can't people just leave it at that and not argue?
