Weezer, often referred to as The Blue Album, is the debut album by the United States alternative rock band Weezer. It was released on May 10, 1994 by Geffen Records. The album was produced by former Cars frontman Ric Ocasek and recorded in Electric Lady Studios in New York City. Weezer spawned the popular singles “Undone - The Sweater Song” and “Buddy Holly”, both of which were responsible for launching Weezer into mainstream success with the aid of music videos directed by Spike Jonze. As of December 2007, the album had sold 3,146,000 copies in the United States[1] where it peaked at #16. It is currently certified 3 times platinum, making it Weezer’s best selling album. In 2003, the album was ranked number 297 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.[2] A 2-CD deluxe edition was released on 2004.

@ lifepainted art: it's in the tags bro. Some people probably have the album as just "Weezer" and some just as "The Blue Album". Same with Undone, people might just have "Undone" or "The Sweater Song" or some variant of the above tag. also I fully agree with edgelike, pinkerton is a better album but blue is more accessible.

Normally, I like it when bands change and try new things with each album... but in the case of Weezer... I would have been perfectly fine with them just releasing blue album b-sides for the next 10 years. The newer stuff is ok I guess, but in a kinda forgettable way.

I think Only In Dreams is the best on this album, but Say It Ain't So is my second favorite. But I love the whole album, It's one of those I can put in and listen to every song, I usually skip Buddy Holly though because I've heard it so many times.

LifePaintedArt: Most people have this tagged as simply "Weezer", all plays of which are attributed to the Green Album (tagged as "Weezer" on this website). Which is why it has a ridiculous amount of plays while this seems so low.
