AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I just wrote a 1000 sings message and then it got past 1000 and I didnt realize it and accidently erased all of it. Grrr. So annoying. So. In short: sorry about secret machines, that sucks. Glad to see youve finished your lap reports. HTTT= need to buy. As an album its a bit of strange concept, the order and length might feel odd but it still works and most of the songs are brilliant. I think the rest of the shout was about how secret machines were great and musing why I still tend to be one of the youngest people in the crowd very often even though I get older to, concluding with blaming it on a shift of musical interests. When I now think about it Im not even sure if thats actually true. You should totally do my Logic homework for me... on the other hand that wont help me with my exam. Today in the tutorial I concluded that I wont pass the first time anyway. We re supposed to have three tries, though. They only do that in philosophy!Lucky me

Oh, yes, the almost shut doors. xD And well of course records have have have to be in order. So do books, actually. But I think that was handed down to me by my father because he is a librarian and puts everything in alphabetical order. xD Glad you got your reports done. :) It gets a bit annoying to live in a shared apartment with people I don't really know. Especially when everything has its place in my head and they put the stuff somewhere completely different. I always put them back where I think they should be. I think they have been ok with it so far. But I will see how it'll be in the future. xD My room is actually quite tidy at the moment because, well, as I said I share an apartment with people I don't really know so I better keep it tidy, at least superficially. I should have gone to bed 3 hours ago and am still sitting here watching crap on youtube and drinking chocolate soy milk. xD

Damn you for telling me about how awesome HSCS were. I never got to see them live. :'( I wrote them message on myspace a number of times and they told me more than once they were planning a tour in Germany. That was a year ago and now they split. Not fair! I got to see Tom as Lonely Ghost last year in March as support for Malajube, though, which was pretty awesome. His girlfriend was standing next to me the entire time and I had no idea until got off stage after his set and kissed her. hehe Oh and btw, I so can relate to that problem of yours. The one with the little things that drive you insane but how this "tidiness" doesn't apply to your bedroom. That's me. I hate when I am at the shops and someone put something down where it doesn't belong or when the labels are not all facing the same way. I start putting the things back and turning products so they face the same way. Or clothes shopping. Horror! My friends tend to get really annoyed with me. xD

Okay let me rephase this: Ok Computer is a great album. It's just not in my top 3 Radiohead albums. Probably no 4 actually. Um, well, logic is more mathematical really. Its very abstract and my professor actually once said "I have no idea how this subject ended up in philosophy! Its maths!" So fun times for me since before I went around saying Id study anything as long as there's no maths in it. So far I still understand it but I lack all the mathematical basics. But right now Im waiting for my logic tutorial to start. I guess I should go and find something to eat for breakfast. I want vegan sushi! but thats kind of absurd so early.... do I care? I dont think so. Anyway after the tutorial Ill either feel better or more confused, probably both a bit. Im already confused anyway cause I always got icelandic classes right after norwegian classes just to make sure I wont be able to seperate them in my head. Sorry for all that babbling! Good luck!

radiohead were really good both times this summer but the first time seeing them was just really amazing. seeing coldplay live was better than 2nd time radiohead though... which isnt meant to sound like it wasnt good, actually it was pretty good but coldplay were so so so good. Im not a big Ok Computer fan, either. Well its a great great record but Im more of a Amnesiac/Hail to the thief girl. Haha, what you say about being insane when things "arent right"/need of tidyness but still being messy somehow reminds me of Juliane a bit. I study Scandinavian Studies and Philosophy. Logic is a nightmare, Im so scared of the exam... you "only" do physics?

They are pretty cool. I just had a quick listen after I read your shout. I would come round but.... I think it is getting a bit scary how I seem to get along with bassists so well. Whenever I get to meet a band after their show it's always the bassists I get along with and talk to most. Now I don't know whether that's me or the fact that bassists are a certain kind of person that I just click with. I mean, you are in a band. And what instrument do you play? Exactly, bass. xD It has become something of a rule. I mean I haven't met too many bands but I can say for sure that it's always the bassists that were nicest to me. xD Anyways, I should go and sleep.

Oh wow, being literally half of the crowd would be weird. I keep my fingers crossed they have done a better job this time round. I hate nothing more than shows of bands with lots and lots of potential and great songs that don't get anywhere because of useless promoters not doing what they are paid for. I have had quite a few shows I have been to over the last couple of years where I would have like to kick the promoter in the butt. But I never had it quite as bad as you being half of the audience. If the last.fm event is anything to go by it doesn't look too promising, though, does it? I am not sure whether Sohodolls want to be taken seriously or not. If they don't than they are kinda cool if they do they have failed miserably and are a joke. ;) Apparently they are very moody, as well... And enjoy their drugs. But that's only what I have been told by the band that supported them... But especially the bassist seemed pretty nice, if high, backstage. I always end up talking to bassists...

Well, buying stuff makes me happy while I am out buying it. But once I get home and think about how much money I have spent the guilt kicks in. But never mind that. I think I might ask for Sennheiser headphones for Christmas. Yeah, I think I shall do that. ;) I can't remember how I got hold of The Unicorns. I really have no idea. Which is quite sad because it was only about a year and a half ago that I got the album... Oh well. I had to smile when I saw that you listened to The Soho Dolls. A band I am somewhat friends with supported them here in Berlin (which in my eyes was the work of one useless booker because it so didn't work), well they were supposed to be the opener for them but ended up playing after them so most people had left by the time they started playing, it was fun though, they asked every one left to join them on stage for the last song. Anyways, what I wanted to say is that I feel that the Soho Dolls are awful posers. Though kinda nice off stage. :)

About Me

If you want to contact me about moderation issues, use a PM rather than a shout, I'll get it more quickly that way. Problems with events, venues or artist images should be reported by using the 'flag for review'/'flag as abuse' buttons on the respective pages rather than PM-ing me or any other moderator. Please be sure to include an explanation and any relevant links, as we won't necessarily be able to find the correct page for a venue in a city we've never heard of.

Now that's over with, some stuff about Chris rather than DFA1979:
Don't let the orange badge and 'moderator' sign scare you, I'm actually quite nice - I don't bite (unless you're made of pizza). Don't be a moron and we'll get on fine. But I won't accept random friend requests. If I don't know anything about you, I'm not going to accept you as a friend, why would I? Talk to me a bit first.

I study Physics at the University of Liverpool, currently in my third year of a four year MPhys course. I may or may not go on to do a PhD afterwards, I've not really made any decision on that yet. I love languages. I'm currently monolingual, but learning to speak German - slowly learning, but learning. It's particularly the way that languages develop, and the relationships between them, which interests me more than being able to speak a bunch of them, though.

I don't really have a favourite band. There are a far too many good ones to choose from. Nor do I have a favourite song, for the same reason. It's just impossible to pick. I like recommendations, look into my library for clues as to what I might like. Tell me to check out things that are a bit different to what I already listen to, I try to keep an open mind. My top artists may fall in a roughly similar spectrum, but if you look further into my collection there's also metal, experimental, techno, and more. Language doesn't matter, I mostly listen to stuff in English but my CD collection already includes stuff in Icelandic, Norwegian, Japanese, Swedish, French, and possibly one or two more. So be bold, the worst that can happen is that I might not like it - that's not going to make me hunt you down with a shotgun, I'll just think "oh. OK, I'll listen to something else instead".

For those who thought "tl;dr": quit complaining, nobody's asking you to read any of this anyway.

I miss Marvin the sad robot
