man, cynic is arguably peak music, or at least in this small corner of music. atheist are very f good, but cynic took these ideas much further.

Thx for taking me back. Back in the day I used to blast unquestionable presence and focus. Couldn't put one above the other, they're different.

They're possibly releasing a new album in 2024. They claim that 2024 will be a good year, according to a social media post. They posted it on their official Facebook page.

Right now I'm wearing a tour shirt from 2009. I saw them live in July 2009 and it was an amazing show!

I had Spotify on shuffle and all of a sudden, to my surprise, Atheist comes on. I never thought I'd hear them on Spotify again. Glad to see them back, although I do own all the records, physically -- nothing beats convenience.

Fuck, can't believe I missed them coming back to spotify. Was holding off on listening to elements again until they came back given I don't own it lol

From these shouts, it seems that they have a questionable presence on Spotify. I'll just be over there ->

The only flaw with Unquestionable Presence is that you cannot listen to it infinitely many times.

Presumably something with the label- they were put up on the site by SoM, after all, and it's been like 3 years after Agonia took over. If we're optomistic, we could say that perhaps they're preparing infrastructure for the 5th album.

According to their facebook page, it does appear they're going over to a new label. https://www.facebook.com/AtheistBand/ Check the post about Unquestionable Presence's anniversary.

It is fascinating that there are theists who listen to Atheist and it's even more fascinating when they consider Atheist one of their favorite music artists. I know there's gotta be theists who can't get enough of this band. Interesting that not all people who listen and scrobble this artist are atheists. It's probably safe to say that the majority of fans are atheists. Since the artist name is Atheist, atheists think they need to listen to them. I know there's gotta be several atheists who despise this band! Think about that!

LOL, that's as good a reason as any. That said, though, I lack any theistic belief but I still listen to a fair amount of religious music. I also listen to a fairly hefty number of artists whose political views I disagree with or outright despite. Good music is good music, as I see it.

Even I don't have one good answer.. I'd say gods can create universe, so here we are, writers and storytellers, musician and even normal people with all their gossips. Second option: the being controlling the world around itself - so is humanity, holding the world. We can't change the overall rules, but we can use it in the most extended ways any creature can do. And third - in the Nietzschean way of thinking - we're the ones making our own rules, so we took the place of dead god by ourselves.

Good to know. http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/atheist-signs-with-agonia-records-new-album-due-this-year/ for those who want more info. I'm hoping Suecof isn't still going to be producing - the godawful production was the only bad thing about Jupiter IMO. Last I'd heard he was still attached to the album, but that was years ago by now, so maybe they've wised up and gotten someone who knows what dynamic range is.

LOL @ Boreguts. I don't find Gorguts either. I like Cynic as well, but only Focus and their demos. Cynic's recordings after Focus are hit or miss to me. Atheist are better.

Lol @ Boreguts, can say the same. Also, even if their albums are weird in level of technical aspects, I still find both Cynic and Gorguts better than Atheist - also, Gorguts' "Considered Dead" era is, in my personal view, much better than anything all these bands produced. But I'm sucker for old school death, so don't mind.
