Children of the Great Extinction is awesome! It has the crunchy riffs of Terminate Damnation, the epic feel of Dichotomy, and the progressive sensibility of Celestial Completion. All in all, it's a worthy addition to the band's discography.

Your wish has been granted. Mr. Wisdom is back with the band again after more than a decade. They just released a single today and announced the new album, entitled Children of the Great Extinction.

The band has undergone an evolution over the years. Their debut album contained elements of metalcore along with death metal. Their second album contained influences from European melodic death metal. Their third album was probably their closest to death metal, but contained progressive elements. These progressive elements came to a head in their fourth album and the band returned to their core influences. After Jason left the band, they are gravitating more towards deathcore. It's actually quite hard to accurately tag a band who has jumped all over the place like that. The best overall label would probably be death metal with melodic, progressive, and core influences.

@TheWrathofThor, They are both. It's surprising that they aren't tagged as deathcore, really...probably for the best, since their sound is more creative than the majority of deathcore bands currently playing.

The lyrics to "Evil Unseen" are about The Dark Tower books by Stephen King. Most of the other lyrics on Dichotomy were inspired by That Hideous Strength and other works from C.S. Lewis.

v Touche, I forgot how much better the lyrics were on Celestial Completion. I still prefer a vocalist that hasn't shown signs of being anti-science (referring to Evil Unseen in particular.)

"You're right, now we don't have to deal with lyrics like the album Dichotomy." We already moved away from Dichotomy lyrics with Celestial Completion.

"BTA just isn't the same without Jason Wisdom." You're right, now we don't have to deal with lyrics like the album Dichotomy.

Line up changes happened...really, I Am is a good album if you are a djent fan. If you aren't, well, I understand your disappointment.

such gangs usually good have only the first album... and meanwhile this rule isn't broken - BTA to that confirmation... anything interesting (if to consider release in a genre progressive metal) but the metalcor as a whole for me is mediocre and consequently above than 2 of 5 album doesn't deserve...
