Just discovered this band with Rise Radiant. I gotta say I like what I'm hearing. I'll spend a bit of time listening to their music in the next few days.

This band is like the crucifix of prog metal that just keeps saving.. <3 From their acoustic solos' to their djent-like breakdowns, its enjoyable! Their vocalist is also brilliant, so much emotion put into studio recordings... Not to mention the lyricism is great too. Comprehensible and expressive.

Rise Radiant is absolutely solid and incredible album. Caligula's remains as one the most consistent bands nowadays

I'm not sure if somethings wrong with my set up but does anyone else find this album really hard to listen to? It feels too loud, but the volume seems to fluctuate like bad compression or volume levelling that keeps changing? I've tried other albums and they haven't felt like this

caligula's horse's "rise radiant" is such an awesome album.. I regularly listen to caligula's horse (arcane beforehand) and dead letter circus, australia seems to have a high-class progressive rock/metal scene.. not forgetting karnivool.. "sound awake" made me become an instant fan of their music. "asymmetry" was not my cup of tea, I've been waiting for their second masterpiece ever since :( I still don't appreciate chaos divine enough, they need more listens (but voyager is too cheesy for my taste). however, caligula's horse once again show: modern progressive rock/metal from down under is exceptionally good :)

thanks for your comment and your recommendation :) I like your library as well :) I'm afraid Twelve Foot Ninja are a little too "weird" for me and not really appealing to me musically. I like their humor and appreciate their bold mixing of styles, but what I need is immersion. regarding this, how do you feel about Katatonia's new album, our common no. 1 here on last.fm?

I fully understand your feelings about TFN, the style blend is sometimes too much for me either. I really like their djenty songs from their latest album Outlier though. About City Burials I have mixed feelings... I couldn't get into The Fall Of Hearts, so I hoped for a return to the sound of NITND and TGCD and was a bit disappointed. But after a few spins I started to appreciate the mood and their evolved sound. Still I catch myself skipping songs. My highlights are Flicker, Lacquer, Vanishing and Untrodden. How about you?

After a few spins of Rise Radiant I think the three singles stand out as strong individual tracks, but Autumn/The Ascent has huge potential to be the long term grower. In my opinion this is their most consistent album to date, but In Contact has more memorable songs and themes. Nevertheless, it's already great and will definitely grow even more on me...they did it again!

Just discovered my new favorite band for the next few months. There's some weird Ocarina Of Time melodic vibe going on on In Contact.

I get some video game / anime anthem vibes out of some melodies here, even though they're buried in proggy rhythmic patterns. The beginning of Dream The Dead's main melody especially reminds me of Zeldas Lullaby.
