New album is clearly AOTY. It is so so so good. Hopefully they'll tour Europe in 2024 :c

I don't know what you're talking about. Last album is good and I definitely like it more than A Umbra Omega. Vocals are interesting. Cleaner ones remind of something Vortex was doing in Arcturus, harsher ones remind of Attila Csihar in his later years. Musically, again, I don't understand where did you find this "senseless repetition". There is a lot of really out of the box decisions thrown in all over the album. When you are listening to "Det tomme kalde morke" for example, you just can't tell where the next step is going to take you as the song progresses. It is really unpredictable, but not in chaotic sense as 666 International was, but more in a restrained and gloomy way.

My fault, every single time I listen to the new album I end up repeating that track five or six times.

I like the new album. Middle aged melancholy madness. Not as overtly mad as previous albums. The (black) metal parts don't resonate as much or remind me of older DHG. They do remind of other bands though.I feel like it's the first time when listening to DHG since 666, that I've consciously been reminded of other bands ( Arcturus, later Enslaved, Ulver). I think Vicotnik has done a good job re: vocals, although I do miss Aldrahn. Still; a good album for sure, and better than Supervillain Outcast

Stopped following them after Monumental Possession, but Black Medium Current sounds promising.

Supervillain Outcast is a decent album but I feel like some of the ideas and other sections in the album could have been executed better instead of what it ended up being. Plus, the second disc is instrumental only black metal which felt kinda incomplete without Kvhost's vocals. Not a bad album, but I'd say their future releases took Supervillain Outcast and improved on it.

Second disc is not even part of the album but you listen to Absurd so you got all the excuses to being a stupid fuck online.

Even if I didn't count the second disc I'd still prefer A Umbra Omega and Black Medium Current. I still love tracks like Horrorison and Vendetta Assassin though.

The new album is excellent! Might be the most introspective and emotionally charged by them so far, though without sacrificing any of the good ol weirdness!

Agreed. As much as I like Aldrahn as a vocalist, I don't think he would've worked well on this album.

agree, really weak album, boring. This work will surprise only those who have heard little in this subgenres.

...If it does that to you, i can't imagine what could do if Aldrahn had sung on it as it was originally intended.

That would be like getting a handjob from my hot grade 11 English teacher after school while her oblivious husband waits outside in a shitty Toyota Corolla to drive her home and sniff her panties later while she's in the shower.

aldrahn's vocals and fenriz's bass work are superb on kronet til konge. i've never really cared about the rest of their discography though

Considering the fact that I've always been severely disappointed everytime I've seen them live, they performed surprisingly well in Oslo last weekend. Nice to hear Traces of Reality without it being butchered by sloppiness and awful sound.

666 International очень хороший альбом, жаль вышел не вовремя - тогда по достоинству оценить не могли, а для настоящего слишком устаревшие синты, да и мастеринг нужен жирный, современный.

Steelfest 2018 live was amazing! Sadly I couldn't even react before they were gone from stage... Respect!

Oh my god the vocals are so evil deadish. The album is absolutely fantastic despite the ridiculous vox.

Peaceville is releasing a double CD version of Kronet til Konge featuring rehearsals and stuff. Also an expanded edition of Satanic Art. If they don't put "Black Treasure" on that then they will have utterly failed. Black Treasure is one of the best DHG songs yet and has yet to exist on any release.
