I find this song annoying. The chorus appears 2328743857 times and I got enough of it very quickly.

It's not guitar thrash or leftist harangue, it's a groove thang. And that funky, swaggering groove is a colossus: the drums rule, thumping along monotonously but with complete control, while the bass bounces around, slightly lower in the mix, filling in the spaces between the tribal thuds. Gill's guitar is at a significant disadvantage against the combined power of the bass line and drum pattern, which is amplified by a lack of separation between the instruments. Even though he gets the first few bars to himself, the relative weakness of his playing merely highlights the ferocity of the rhythm section's attack. Nevertheless, he finds interesting things to do with himself. He keeps his metallic, angular guitar tone, but he doesn't latch onto a riff'; instead, his playing is restless--as if he's exploring various possible hooks, playing shards of each possibility and moving on. Dogged experimentation doesn't allow him to do more than play around the edges of the groove, though.
