The only thing that sucks about that album are these things: ~ ~ .. "Considered ~ Dead ~"

It's definitely their most underrated album. I especially love the opening track "Inverted"

It's crazy to me that "Obscura" is dominating the top tracks and nothing from "Erosion of Sanity" is in the top 10. Whose got "Obscura" on infinite replay??

I love these guys but the fans are weird, I saw at least 3 chess games going on in the middle of the moshpit

From Wisdom to Hate is so underrated, i think its only slightly outclassed by obscura, but only cause obscura is just an absolute classic.

Honestly I'm more mad about not being able to see the tour just because I wasn't able to snag one of those dope ass Considered Dead long sleeves

I've only known them from their tech/avant-garde releases and have only just discovered the exquisiteness of their more traditional pre-Obscura albums. Erosion of Sanity is a classic that I can't believe I hadn't heard.

Was really cool to hear Gorguts play Considered Dead stuff with this current lineup. Those older tracks sounded more massive than they ever have (Colin's bass tone tho) and I have a new found appreciation for that record. Also, Luc said he would be working on the new record after the tour!

For those catching them on this Cannibal Corpse tour, how many songs are they playing?

Yeah, I want to go see them so bad, but would much prefer a headlining set... oh well

I'd actually give major respect to Swift if she did agree to do that for real because it'd be so fucking funny.

yeah, but then she'd write a bunch of songs about how THEY were jerks and she's oh so innocent, like every other turd she pens.

They opened for System of a Down when I saw them at a festival in 2012. Was bizarre that they were on the same stage, since there was a separate stage that was mostly death metal bands

I'm looking for bands and albums that have a similar approach to death metal than Gorgut, especially on "Colored Sands" (loose rhythms, intense percussions, lots of dissonance). I know there is a recommandation section below but maybe someone has a little dark gem to share ?

i’m officially addicted to the bass-and-drums mix of colored sands that colin posted on youtube last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdQdwbgyqYg bass tone and technique worthy of chris squire. i also feel like i’m hearing some ghost notes in longstreth’s playing that i never really noticed before. naturally, it sounds a lot like ruins, of course. colin also posted several videos of himself performing the bass lines from various gorguts tracks, which are also fascinating watches. but seriously, if they put this bass-and-drums mix up on bandcamp, i’d buy it again. it’s that good. i’d also love to hear more mixes like this from metal bands – this really helps you hear their work in a new way, and i feel like i have even more appreciation for colored sands now than i did when it came out. what a phenomenal band.

Met Luc twice - once in 2013, when they were headlining a slam/goregrind/death metal festival; incredibly affable and even struck up a conversation with me about Opeth. Second time in 2014, opening for Carcass- cold and distant (dare i say, stiff). No idea why i'm sharing this now, but, that's that, i guess.
