My only deal with this album is that it is too long. No idea why bands make such damn long albums.

Thirty years after their first album, Killing Joke still proves they are the masters of post-punk and industrial metal on this "Absoute Dissent". The first part is the most innovative, with the harsh "The Great Cull", the more melodic "Fresh Fever From The Skies" and also an electronic effort with the effective "European Super State". Jaz Coleman's voice has never been so good on the screaming parts. The second part of the album is more traditional post-punk music like KJ always have done in the eighties, featuring a heartbreaking tribute for Paul Raven, deceased before the release, "The Raven King". I also personally find this album artwork really well done.

This album is a text book example of the loudness war. Hosannas also had problems with the dynamic range but overall I prefer its production a lot over this. Also the songs are a lot better. Absolute Dissent is still a decent listen though...

The opener scared me. If there's any virtue in this album, it'll take a while before I get around to looking for it.

I recommend this album to that bald&lazy oldman calling himself Andrew Eldritch.

This album is the perfect culmination of all the musical directions Killing Joke were pursuing throughout the 2000s. Now I really wonder how their next move will sound like. Much respect to Jaz Coleman's workman-like approach.

Fantastic album. A very pleasant surprise. [2] However I feel like it kind of dropped out near the end...

Hell, why do these more-than-50-years-old persons sound so fresh? I want to age that well.

"Good Samaritan," like the new album, is couched in bitter sarcasm and is convinced of the imminent apocalypse.

I *love* the lyrical themes and melding of their older post-punk style with the more recent industrial rock/metal style... but I think Jaz should have aimed to keep things a little more subtle at times, I think.

This album is so unexpected for me, really good, a mix of old albums by Killing Joke, updated as necessary while remaining in continuity with the recent album :) "European super state" or how to make something new with the old new wave!
