In this piece, Stefani attempts to communicate how the attraction she experiences can be likened to a "Christmas Tree".
Stefani makes mention of how she likes to be put on top, going back to the many instances she has mentioned being a power bottom. In the encounter she remains passive, but still dictates how things go, just like a power bottom would do. This predilection can be referenced in her jazz collaboration "You're The Top" with the late Tony Bennett, in which she yet again reiterates her role preference.
The metaphor of the "Christmas Tree" can be further applied to the nature of the encounter. Just like Christmas, Stefani's ventures are sporadic, though memorable. Even in their sparse confluence, she manages to enjoy every second of it. A bright spot in an otherwise bleak and hollow world.
