What a delight to hear this in The Patient. It gave me a new profound perspective on the song.

In what way did you feel that the opinions of lawyers about what a song should mean to people and when it should or should not be played four years after the death of the artist in question added some sort of perspective to the song? Other than, I guess, offering the perspectives of those lawyers.

What new perspective is being offered by anything they've said? Provided you're capable of deciphering the most rudimentary of metaphors it's a song which makes frequent allusions to abuses of power. The statement from the lawyer is pretty straightforward in using that plain reading of the meaning to make a criticism of Donald Trump. Provided you're someone who already thought Donald Trump was a bad man who abused power why would you need a statement from a lawyer going "Yeah, I think that would be appropriate for him!" to get that perspective? It's not like they've offered the key to determining some sort of hidden subtext of the song.

Dunno why you'd interject yourself in that case, but fair enough, we'll leave it there.

In what way is this a new perspective on the song? You've taken a supremely vacuous and banal comment and you're acting like it's some sort of great insight based on what? Because it happens to align with your political beliefs? You're basically saying "Song about bad man could be applied to bad man" is some sort of noteworthy revelation you felt the need to share.

Tremendous. Unbelievable lyrics. "Vilified, crucified, in the human frame" He had accepted his death. "Hineni, hineni - I'm ready, my Lord"

Definitely the best song from this album, and one of Leonard's best song, in all his carrier. Despite he actually does not really really sing here, but more like reciting the poem on a (very good) ambient music. Not that this is a bad musical thing, of course. Anyway, I loved this song from the very first seconds of listening (and even more enjoyed it after learning about his pass-away about a week ago). I will also vote this to be on almost any top for the whole 2016 year.
