María Villar, better known as María Escarmiento, participated in the famous Spanish television talent show Operación Triunfo, placing eighth in the contest.
She was about to go to Eurovision 2019 with the song Muérdeme, but her partner Miki Núñez won it with the song La Venda, causing her to be in second place in the preselection.
Her first single is called Amargo Amor, which came out on July 10, 2019. The following year, she released Punishment; Another Night, in collaboration with El Mini; and Chulo as a preview of her first EP, Feeling It Much, which came out on July 3, 2020, with three more songs apart from the singles: Ni Tu Cara, La Bomba and Baladón, a collaboration with Pedro LaDroga.
On August 14, Dive came out, a collaboration with Damien, fellow OT member.
