For those who whine about the new CD. I mean wtf dude. Just be glad that this band is still around after 30+ years. DON'T TAKE THEM FOR GRANTED. Brian and Dan have had a hard life already due to injuries so it takes courage to still be around. To be honest in the early 00's, when Buddy migrated on Austria, no one on Earth ever expected a 5th Psychotic Waltz album. Buddy doesn't reinvent the wheel in the new album of 2020 but we knew that from Dead Soul Tribe already. But the team is back momentarily and that matters. Most Waltz fans are introverted so this corona-quarantine is like a piece of cake for us. Finally, I am sure that Mike Clift (RIP) would have loved this new record, and this new Travis Smith artwork also. (which seems like a mix of Ayreon/Hawkwind and 'Into the Everyflow' space-themed powertrip)

yeah, gotta stay in positive mood bro. I still have the same opinion that I wrote here , 4 years ago. People need to stop whining. This band only belong to the 5-6 band members so they can do and play whatever they want, they owe nothing to random new fans.

Hull. New album is very agressive. Good album. Very crazy and sometimes, holy fuck, heavy as hell. I

The God-Shaped Void is well written, well produced, inspired and enjoyable from start to finish. Nothing dissapointing about that unless you think it's reasonable to expect a band to produce a revolutionary magnum opus with every release.

To be honest: compared to the monumental first two albums (and even Bleeding and Mosquito) the new one is pretty underwhelming. It's a pleasant listen, sure, but it feels far too tame. I don't understand the overwhelming praise it gets... it's okay, nothing more.

their sound was more extraordinary back then, that's true. I'm also not the best judge when it comes to the old material, I checked it out before but only got into it after the new release. i actually appreciate the clean sound, i have the feeling that it is extremely well produced, it sounds amazing. all my neighbors know the record ;) from that perspective i perceived it as toned up, but I get your point :) thanks for clarifying!

That song sounds as if it was an actual Jethro Tull cover, and one of the best metal interpretations of that classic sound at that!

I was wondering if you could recommend me some music w/ vocals in German (not English), of stuff you are into, from any genre, since I like most of what I see on your page. I am in the process of learning the language but am having a hard time finding music I like from Ger or other Ger-speaking countries. Most of what I'm recommended, like Die Artze (w/ the umlaut), is not my cup of tea & most of the metal I find I like is in English or just not what I'm into (too medievalish/celtic-y, e.g., Faun & Schandmaul or other stuff I just can't stand, e.g., power metal). Again, preferably stuff in German lang but if there's English stuff that's worth checking out as well let me know :) Danke!

lol'd @ DT being gods. It has nothing to do with elitism, they are just way overrated because of their instrumental wanking. The last great album was Awake. [2] Dream Theater can't even TOUCH Psychotic Waltz's class. They are just geeks from Berkley attempting at metal. They will never be a good band without Kevin Moore.
