So I haven't really been following Striborg for about ten years now, and now I came back, and things have really gone off the rails.

I met them IRL not long ago, we have different prevalent symptoms of ASD but it was really refreshing not being thought of as being a weirdo myself for once. Similar wavelength. He’s a really lovely person too btw. :)

He did a cool artwork, but why did not he stick it on the cover instead of using any photoshop effects?https://instagram.fktw4-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t51.2885-15/325689582_841518827078243_8126770552587784901_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_e35&_nc_ht=instagram.fktw4-1.fna.fbcdn.net&_nc_cat=111&_nc_ohc=Ovu9Z-7VzVEAX87tiCW&edm=ABmJApABAAAA&ccb=7-5&ig_cache_key=MzAxNjI1MjkyMTc0MTY4NjUwNA%3D%3D.2-ccb7-5&oh=00_AfB3krJhT3DPAir5BGr4LRG95yjCNimxeUghr04MxYEj0w&oe=6435244B&_nc_sid=6136e7

Probably just not the band for me. Gave numerous shots trying to dig something listenable and likeable, but everything sounds just awful imo.

The Foreboding Silence with eq, 2,5khz-10khz descending, 14khz-20khz close to -20db, the rest evenly, a bit under 0db with 55hz even lower.

Spiritual Catharsis is generally considered the best, followed by Mysterious Semblance. Southwest Passage is a personal favourite.

Raw, yet pretty atmospheric. Usually, I despise this sort of sound, but Striborg is an exception. Sin Nanna places a lot of effort, he's got his reasons other than "being trve" to record in such a state, and, that's certainly admirable.

A portal to another dimension dwells in the Southwest. A passage to eternity where all dreams and nightmares are revealed. An unknown darkness lurks there, awaiting its unworthy victim. The shining gleam of a crystal palace upon the clouds. Those who once ventured there remain a stain in the towers of illusion. Majestic archways and the poison grape vines cascading downwards. You have entered here once before in another lifetime. Another plane of existence, celestial but with a foreboding presence. Await the dark and the call from the dungeons below. Many souls dwell there and scream in pain. Those unworthy cannot leave the Southwest Passage palace. Doomed to die an undignified death. Bloodstained walls and skulls smashed along the corridors. The smell of death permeates the air.

It's just in the middle of the day, proving that you haven't seen One Man Metal (Perhaps the most insteresting thing done by Noisey expecting how good is Bleu Blanc Satan) at all. And if you ask about how good it is, is as good as Until the Light Takes Us in terms of Black Metal related documentary, counting that most of them are just laughable or simply pathetic for me.

The next album will feature a Siouxsie and the Banshees cover... Very curious to hear that!

"The instruments are mimicking the elements and the essense of nature for sure. My guitar would be the mist, the frost, the snow, the winter, and so forth. The drums would be like the heart of the land; the trees and the rocks and certain things like that. The vocals are like the voice of the forest."

After a lengthy period of quiet, Tasmania's foremost one-man black metal project returns with six new tracks of despair. Capturing the essence of isolation, "This Suffocating Existence" ambles through mental mists of despondency as Sin-Nanna's signature vocals cascade through atmospheric compositions of unease. Less frenetic and chaotic than earlier works, Striborg has evolved into the soundtrack for singular specters wandering the silent expansive forest of anguish. _____________________ http://razedsoul.bandcamp.com/album/this-suffocating-existence ----- releases 27 March 2015
