if we can understand life as some kind of attempt to Reach Out, thrashing around searching for some kind of deep compassion and understanding, from other people or God, then the Wrens are simply inarguably and definitively the most important band; their songs speak to lost love, hope, what it means to be a human. they lived the full extent of self-sabotage that exists in the heart of every person on earth, and when they sang about it they poured everything the Body could into it

Charles Bissell ruined a great thing from being one of the worst procrastinators of all time. I listened to the Aeon Station album and definitely enjoyed what it has to offer, but it's still not the same. They should have dropped The Meadowlands follow-up when they were touring in 2009; the performances from that time show they still had that invigorating chemistry that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

He's not a procrastinator; He's a Kevin Shields style perfectionist. He's worked on the album obsessionally for over ten years. If you've heard the few things he's released, like Three Types Of Reading Ambiguity for example, it's clear he really understands that there's a true perfection in the subtle tensions and imperfections. everything about it is perfect, and its an early draft to him. theres a video on the wrens youtube channel of him showing all of his stems, and its insane. hes literally building and deconstructing and reconstructing and fucking with all these things the band wrote and recorded years ago. he did the same with The Meadowlands but i think the situation there managed to push him to actually finish and release it at some point. this time he was given too much freedom, and a computer. and it ruined him

agreed, I don't blame the others for leaving because it seems like it was getting crazy but I don't think he was procrastinating

Saw this band with frodus in 97.....never heard (of) them before that show.....they were energetic and hooky and totally different for any band I'd seen to that point...... I anyways I forgot about them for years and just started rediscovering them......kicking myself for taking this long.....

wish they didn't turn down the huge contract, if only on the grounds that they so fucking deserved it. just wish it weren't at the expense of compromising their vision.

yeah thats the one I found. I can't create a new account on that forum until a mod approves it, and I don't know how often the mods would check that. (the last activity on the forum was back in may 2012.) If anyone has an account with the wrens board, could you check there to see if anyone has it? thank you
