i've heard good things of the Knowlson, who apparently knew Sam. what do you make the "music, Music, MUSIC" part of Murphy? and then its return in the same chapter as "That is ALL, All, all"? Phillip Glass was influenced by Beckett, and he considered his own work to be "music with repetitive structures," strictly not "minimalism." i feel similarly of B, whose writing i find—while indeed stripped of all excess—NOT "minimal" but like "music with repetitive structures." maybe music itself has the same problems as language, restricted by Western rationalism, systematic reason.
