Well there are quite a few good releases. The latest one that really captivated me, is the 4-way split between Abigor, Nightbringer, Thy Darkened Shade and Mortuus. I'll try to think of more!

yeah, completely unexpected! I had started making peace with the fact that they were dead and long gone, and found my regular fix in bands such as the antichrist imperium and voices. And then renaissance in extremis was released... Need more asap hahah

I was absolutely gutted when they broke up. I still haven't been able to see them live yet :( I think last year they played with Mgla in Greece! I wanted to go but had work unfortunately. At least I am given another opportunity to see them! I will check out Antichrist Imperium and I will try to listen more to Voices. The music didn't catch me immediately. Yes, it really is excellent. They have upped their complexity. What I don't understand is why they are still in a cult status.... somehow I try and try to share Akercocke with my friends and they never like it :/ They had me at 'Verdelet'.

Yeah, I understand. My friends can't understand my enthusiasm with Akercocke either, most of them say that they sound like a playlist in shuffle. That's their problem though :). They had me since the goat of mendez, then choronzon came and destroyed me completely. Words... is their best effort, while antichrist is their worst.

Yes I would agree with that too. My favourites are Goat of Mendes, Choronzon, and Words. Ah well! Their loss :D

Thank you for these recommendations, I will have enough music to listen for my entire life. I just discovered a band Chapter v:f10 - really nice atmospheric black metal from Ukraine ;). Totally worth listening to.

Thank you for recommendations once again! I'm listening to Naer Matron right now, but I have to say I've heard better bands. It sounds like a blasphemy, right? Acherontas, Rotting Christ and Kawir are the best of Greece in my opinion. Oh, I love Cultes des Ghoules. Need to see them live one day - of course if they give any gigs. i just me. Oh I just recalled THE BEST band from Poland called Mgła. It means fog in polish, hah. Check them out. They are one of a kind.

I know only 2 of these band you recommended me, thank you! I love greek black metal scene. Even yesterday I discovered two new (for me, hah) bands: Order Of The Ebon Hand and Nergal (like polish Behemoth bands' leader name). I'm so sad I missed latest Rotting Christ and Varathorn gig in Poland...my hangover after another gig to big to travel 300 km. To be honest, polish black metal scene is really awesome, there are many psychodelic, melodic black metal bands like Furia, Morowe, Odraza and many bands that play raw bm (Infernal War, Besatt, Kriegsmachine, Cultes des Ghoules, Plaga, Azarath and so on).

Very good taste in music. How do you find new Outre album? I love that band as a lot of other polish black metal bands and I really have to listen to that album...

I've got similar views to you - it took a while to grow on me and although it doesn't reach the heights of their début, it's still pretty solid- The Dark Tomb Shines is as good as anything they've recorded. Thanks for the recommendation - listening to it now and will share my views when I've fully appreciated it. These last few weeks have been amazing for new releases....Enslaved, AFoS, Acherontas - I even was surprised to enjoy the latest from Keep of Kalessin....

Haha, I know the feeling!....Always good to find those with similar tastes, I find it comes in helpful for finding new bands to check out. I see you like Ascension - what did you think of The Dead of the World?

Hi Nikos, cool, glad you liked Endezzma. I just made a pretty spectacular new discovery last night, [artist]Sulphur Aeon[/artist] from Germany, melodic yet skullcrushingly heavy Death Metal. Think of a crossbreed between Bolt Thrower, Hypocrisy, Dissection and Incantation. Their debut "[album artist=Sulphur Aeon]Swallowed by the Ocean's Tide[/album]" was released in January, highly recommended! I put Celestial Bloodshed in my queue on Spotify, thanks for the tip!
