Yes, I did graduate with a Journalism degree! tt.fm sounds cool. Yeah we should definitely set something up. I am supposed to head out of town tomorrow, though I am dealing with car issues that just came up yesterday so everything is kind of up in the air. So depending on how that goes I can certainly let you know when I might be available to spin. But yeah looking forward to listening sometime soon.

It's ok, I cried about this situation for two nights only so far, so don't worry! LOL but seriously. I haven't listened to everything you mentioned myself yet. you gotta be in the right mood for that shit. and the right mood for a certain band can come after like several years in some instances, it happens... It's all good! Hope you r well too!!

I definitely will give it a listen soon. Thx for the reminder. So I use Tidal for streaming music, and I recently came across an ambient playlist on there. Discovered some real gems. I definitely recommend you check it out: https://tidal.com/browse/playlist/c9dc4535-3ec4-40db-9e46-0e8c6a73f9e4

Really nice taste on music. The Pearl by Budd/Eno is one of my favorite albums. What can you suggest me in the same mood? Aside from Budd, Eno (and collaborations), Robin Guthrie...

And yes. Budd's music is also a part of me, It's só special. When I discovered Budd on Ambient 2 (through Brian Eno) and read reviews of The Pearl, I knew I had to listen to that album. It took years for me to find, back in 2006. But you know what's crazy? Before I even listened, I knew The Pearl was something special that would chance my life. And It did!

Wow, well that's very interesting that you knew The Pearl would change your life. It certainly has affected my life. That album is very near and dear. And I'm glad you liked Hex. It's definitely a special album. Their other album, Codename Dustsucker is good too, but I think Hex is the best. However, this track from Dustsucker I think is very special: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfHQUK6rY38

I liked Bark, but I'm not addicted (yet). I'm really into this album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjEOBqAJRQA&list=PLoTTRWdWkUO_K6LFytJRU62E7FaA-9N5h. Michael Brook worked with Eno/Lanois and they made a great album called "Hybrid". Pieter Nooten was a member of Clan of Xymox (4AD Records), though I never heard the band.

Thanks for sharing. Listening to Labradford right now and enjoying it. Before that I listened to Eberhart Weber, one of my great 2020 discoveries. Sorry for answering this late, I forgot about the world these last weeks. I'm hooked on a book written by Brian Wilson (I Am Brian Wilson) Really fascinating and recomended if you like his music. Wish you a happy year (maybe a little late).

Glad you are enjoying it. Eberhard Weber is great, though I only have really listened to a couple of his records. But Yellow Fields is the one I've heard the most. I will have to check out that book. I did see him live back in 2016. And I wish you a happy new year as well. Thank you.

I have mixed feelings about the last 3 albums. At the same time that I think they're decent, I can't put them in the same level of the first 4 records. I think every one of them has interesting features and some major flaws, to put it simply I think it's Emperor of Sand > The Hunter > OMRTS. I just feel Emperor of Sand is thematically more consistent than the other ones. It has some of the best songs they wrote in years and a nice flow, but unfortunately it losses momentum in the second half imo. But I see a lot of people saying Emperor is their favorite Mastodon album, so it's just a matter of opinion.

I really like it, especially that end. And even thought this is not a ''album album'' I'm looking forward to it, I saw the setlist and it's pretty interesting. I'm curious to hear the Orion cover and the live songs. But yeah, new mastodon is always a nice thing. I kinda forgot about this band the last couple of years, but Emperor of Sand caught me off guard this week, really enjoying it now.

From what I remember, I really like the Love's Easy Tears EP, I should listen to it more. Honestly, there's not much by the Cocteau Twins I've heard that I *didn't* like.

Well, I never indulged properly in Kate Bush until recently - totally criminal for me to hold off for so long. That has been a welcome addition to my listening rotation. A totally leftfield discovery has been The Chameleons though; just unreal how overlooked 'Script of the Bridge' is... It's incredibly moving, I'm not always so sure what the lyrics mean but it's unsettling how well every component comes together to create a piercing, derealised feeling. In a totally different world I've really enjoyed Kero Kero Bonito, 'Bonito Generation' is just very pretty! Any recs or recent finds?

Yeah, the upgrades to this site ain't great but I credit last.fm with pretty much every major music discovery I've made within the last 10 years. I've been obsessed with Rina Sawayama lately, her debut album is such a diverse mix of influences, it's amazing. Also looking forward to Steven Wilson's new album

Sorry for not answering your question the first time. Do you mean physically play music? Because I've never actually played an instrument, believe it or not! I do sometimes think about what kind of music I'd make if I ever became musically inclined.

Well, shit, I might have to subscribe then. Blue Bell Knoll is my favorite, but there was a period where Victorialand was. Head Over Heels has been my most listened to album lately.

Thanks! I've actually been using Last.fm since about 2007, I've just had several different accounts (it'd be nice if I could change my name BTW) over the years. Back then I was super into grunge (which I still appreciate), 2Pac, Pantera, and others. Is your favorite Cocteau Twins album Blue Bell Knoll like your # of all time plays suggests?

You should've seen my charts from 10 years ago, so completely different from the kind of stuff I listen to now. But that's the cool thing about music taste. I love that your most played Slowdive song is "Melon Yellow" which is one of my favorites.
